Create a Vray Light Bitmap Find an HDR Leave it at the default of "Real Pixels" left-click material and drag into one of the slots it'll ask if you want an instance; accept "instance"

Common Tab Under "Time Output", you can select single to render one frame "Range" allows you to do animation Under "Output Size" We select HDTV (video) 1920X1080 for final renders and 480x270 for test renders because it's smaller dimension Vray Tab IPR allows you to render things interactively Image projected on the screen Bucket will render certain sections of the image Progressive will render the image blurry but will get blurry as the image progresses Checkbox "GI environment" allows environment to caast light into the scene GI Tab allows light to bounce around the scene Under primary engine, leave Brute Force off and select light cache for test renders Under "cachece" make sure Subdivs - 1,000 lowers subdivs makes the image grainier; higher subdivs do not when you do a final render, switch Brute force on Render Settings Exposure

3DS Max Issue (04/22) - Freeze/Unfreeze to get out

Experienced a bug issue with not being able to select individual polygons Freezing/Unfreezing selection helped solve the issue "Frozen objects are similar to hidden objects. Linked, instanced, and referenced objects behave when frozen just as they would if unfrozen. Create a Tube No Width Segments Convert to editable Poly select edges and select ring hit connect; say we want two connected edges and pull them off to the far side of the tube. select an edge in between newly addeed conencted edges and select ring and do this for the other side right-click and convert to face extrude and local normal Inner part of wheel select all faces and select inset polygons to place a face in the center

3D Map Projection - One Instance of Image

When dragging image onto plane for image reference, we usually see more than one image projected on plane You must apply a UVW Map Modifier into your object Under the UVW Map Modifier, un-check Real-World Map Size to Project one instance of image will work

Getting things done

Error Message: You Must Have Valid Objects Selected
